Teacher Highlight: Mr. Isaac Preciado
At Coachella Valley Adult School, we are honored to highlight Mr. Isaac Preciado, a dedicated educator whose life journey is a powerful testament to resilience, service, and the life-changing impact of second chances.

A Full-Circle Journey of Service and Purpose
Born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mr. Preciado began his high school journey at Coachella Valley High School but fell behind on credits. Determined to complete his education, he enrolled at Coachella Valley Adult School, where he graduated in the year 2000. This experience became a turning point in his life—one that gave him a deep appreciation for the importance of adult education and the perseverance it takes to succeed.
After the tragic events of 9/11, Mr. Preciado answered the call to serve and volunteered for a combat unit in the U.S. Army, where he served honorably as an Iraq War Veteran. Following his military service, he pursued higher education and earned his bachelor’s degree in 2017. In 2018, he returned to CVUSD as a substitute teacher, working with both K-12 and adult education students. His passion for working with adult learners led him to obtain his Adult Education Teaching Credential.

For the past five years, Mr. Preciado has been a cornerstone of the High School Diploma program at Coachella Valley Adult School. In the last school year alone, he helped approximately 80 adult students earn their diplomas—an accomplishment that reflects his commitment to empowering others through education. His dedication was recognized this year by his colleagues, who nominated him for Teacher of the Year—an honor that speaks to the impact he has on both students and staff. He often shares that this is the best job he’s ever had, and his own story of determination inspires countless students to believe that they too can overcome obstacles and reach their goals.
From soldier to scholar to educator, Mr. Isaac Preciado embodies the spirit of perseverance and purpose. We are proud to have him as a leader and role model in our CVAS community.
