Coachella Valley Adult School offers a HiSET/GED preparation class. Through direct instruction and assisted learning, this course covers math, language arts writing, language arts reading, social studies, and science needed to pass your test. In addition, this class covers test taking strategies, and study skills for independent learning.

Students begin by being assessed for their individual level of proficiency on the 5 subjects; then, a personalized study program is recommended for students to follow. Coachella Valley Adult School is the Coachella Valley’s certified GED and HiSET test center, so you can take the official test on our campus. When it comes time for graduation, Coachella Valley Adult School (in partnership with Fantasy Springs Casino) offers a full graduation ceremony in June of each year. Our High School Diploma and GED (English and Spanish) Programs are designed for busy adults. We make coming back to school easy by providing convenient class times, multiple locations, child care, and self-paced independent study options.

We are an educational facility committed to provide outstanding student-centered curriculum enhanced with supportive teachers and staff to assist you in achieving your educational goals.

Coachella Valley Adult School has been serving the community since 1952 and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

High School Equivalency Exams

A popular way to complete your high school educational requirements is through a test called the GED or HiSET. These tests are equivalent to a high school diploma. Students are encouraged to attend classes Monday through Thursday to prepare for the test.

These classes are FREE to registered students. A GED study book is required for the class and are available for purchase.

Child care is available free of charge.

Testing sessions are available monthly. Information about testing dates and costs are available upon request.

Graduates of the program will receive their High School Equivalency Certificate from the California Department of Education and are eligible to participate in a graduation ceremony in June at Fantasy Springs Casino.
