At Coachella Valley Adult School, we are proud to shine a light on the inspiring journey of Guadalupe Vega, a Level 3 ESL student whose determination and dedication have made her a true standout in our school community.
Coachella Valley Adult School
Guadalupe works full-time as a gardener—a job that demands physical strength, long hours, and early mornings. Her day begins at 4:30 a.m., yet she consistently arrives to class ready, engaged, and eager to learn. Since September, Guadalupe has maintained an exceptional attendance rate of 98%, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her education.
When she first joined our ESL program, Guadalupe had never used a computer. Today, she confidently turns in assignments through platforms like CANVAS and PADLET, and she has learned how to send and receive emails—skills that were once completely unfamiliar to her. This rapid progress speaks to her incredible adaptability and determination to grow.
Guadalupe completes every assignment without fail and goes beyond by supporting her classmates. She is always willing to explain lessons to others and creates a welcoming environment where everyone feels encouraged to learn.
Although speaking has been her most challenging area, Guadalupe faces it with courage and determination. She actively participates in class conversations and pushes herself to improve, even when she’s tired from a long day’s work. Her goal is to become more confident in oral communication, and every day, she gets closer to achieving it.
Guadalupe Vega is more than just a hardworking student—she is a powerful example of resiliency, perseverance, and academic growth. Her story reminds us that with dedication and heart, anything is possible.
We are honored to have Guadalupe as part of our learning community and excited to see what she will achieve next!
